Remote data recovery

Logical data recovery, done remotely and done properly.

I recover data from drives that are logically damaged — deleted, formatted, corrupted, or unreadable — over a live screen-share session, working directly on your own computer. Not every data-loss situation fits this. I'll tell you plainly if yours doesn't.

Scope

What I actually recover

This is remote work, over a screen-share connection to your own machine — which means it only works for logical problems, not physical ones. Here's the honest breakdown, so you know before we even talk whether this is a fit.

Handled remotely
Needs a local lab, not remote work

If your situation turns out to need a lab, I'll say so during the initial conversation — that assessment doesn't cost you anything.

Process

How a session actually works

No black box. Here's exactly what happens between the first email and getting your files back.

01

Email me what happened

Describe the device, what you were doing when you noticed the problem, and anything you've already tried. The more specific, the faster I can tell whether this is a fit.

02

We figure out if remote work can actually fix it

If it sounds physical rather than logical, I'll say so upfront and point you toward what actually helps, instead of taking the job anyway.

03

A screen-share session, on your machine

TeamViewer or AnyDesk, whichever you're more comfortable installing. I work on the drive directly, on your computer, with you watching the whole time.

04

One fixed price, agreed before I start

Once I can see exactly what's wrong, you get a single fixed quote for the recovery. No hourly billing, no add-on fees partway through.

05

Recovery, usually 1–3 days

Once we've agreed on the price and I've started, recovery typically takes one to three days from there, depending on how much data there is and how the drive behaves under the process.

Why this works without me touching your drive

A screen-share session means your data never leaves your computer. I connect to your screen, run the recovery process with you watching, and whatever gets recovered stays on your own drive from start to finish — nothing is uploaded, copied to me, or sent anywhere.

You control the connection at every point — screen-share software like TeamViewer or AnyDesk lets you end the session instantly, and nothing gets installed permanently unless you choose to keep it.

Pricing

How pricing works

Simple, on purpose — you should never be guessing what this is going to cost partway through.

01

The initial conversation and diagnosis are free. Describing the problem by email and figuring out whether it's a fit costs nothing.

02

One fixed price, quoted after I've actually seen the drive. Once I understand what's wrong during the session, you get a single number for the recovery — agreed before any paid work starts.

03

No hourly billing, no surprise add-ons. If the situation turns out to be more complex than expected, we talk about it — the price doesn't just quietly change.

04

If recovery isn't realistically possible, I'll tell you. You're only ever quoted a price for work I'm confident is worth doing — not strung along on a case that isn't going anywhere.

FAQ

A few common questions

What operating systems do you work with?

Windows, macOS, and Linux — the underlying logical-recovery techniques apply across all three; the exact tools used depend on the specific situation.

Is a remote session actually safe?

You control the connection the entire time. Screen-share software like TeamViewer or AnyDesk lets you watch everything happening and end the session instantly if you want to. Nothing is installed permanently unless you choose to keep it.

What if my drive turns out to need physical work?

That's determined during the free initial conversation, before any session happens. If it looks physical rather than logical, I'll say so directly and point you toward what to look for in a local lab, rather than attempting something remote work isn't suited for.

Do you guarantee you'll recover my data?

No honest recovery service can guarantee that outright — it depends on what actually happened to the drive. What I can guarantee is a straight answer: if I don't think recovery is realistically achievable, you'll hear that from me instead of a quote.
